2023 Recap

Hello, fellow human. 🤩 Or AI-bot! 🤖

I had the honor of working on some really cool projects this past year that I want to share. This feels like a digital scrapbook of last year. 😅 Let’s get into it!

Will Trent + Carol and the End of the World

The first two projects I want to talk about are ABC’s Will Trent and Netflix’s Carol and the End of the World — I got to work with the incredible Joe Wong and write additional music for these shows. It was such a cool experience; the process and the product hold such a special place in my heart. Be sure to watch them, they’re great! (I’m biased, but it’s true!) ✨

Ebenezer Falls

I wrote my first feature-length film score for the psychological thriller Ebenezer Falls. (It’s been a dream to write a horror film score, so this was a literal dream come true!) It hasn’t been released yet, but I saw a screening of it in Atlanta, and it was phenomenal! I’ll post when it’s out. 🙌

Podcasts

I’ve recently been working in the podcast world! This is new territory for me, but so far, it’s been a very fulfilling experience!

I wrote two podcast themes, one for The Joy in Goal Setting by The Ideal Life, and the second for Shisa Speaks Podcast which is an educational podcast dedicated to helping people identify and combat consent crimes.

Also in the podcast world, I am now writing music for and editing the Out Down South podcast by WUSSY Mag and The Atlanta LGBTQ+ History Project. The new episodes will be featuring my original music, so stay tuned!

Original Music

And lastly, I am slowly but surely releasing new original music! I’ve been working on this next wave of music for about four years now, so I’m excited to finally be releasing them. There’s a lot more to come in 2024, so keep an eye out. :)

It was a beautiful, challenging, exciting, difficult year. The SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike made a lot of things uncertain in the creative world, along with literally everything else happening in the world. Recently, I’ve been keeping my head down, maintaining what I call creative hermit mode. I’m excited, nervous, and ready to let go of the next wave of music.
